Guild Recruitment and Applications

6.1 - General Guild Recruiting Status - We currently aren't actively recruiting. We gained a large number of high-quality individuals simply through merging several friend-based guilds, and are therefore not in a great need of additional players. That said, if someone knows of an individual who would be an asset to our guild, we are always happy to consider them for guild membership. Guild membership is in no way a guarantee, entitlement, or even suggestion of raid membership.

6.2 - Criteria for Selecting New Guild members - The single most important criterion for selecting additional members is compatibility. We want people who will enhance our in-game experiences -- people who are friendly, respectful of others, and generally a lot of fun. Player skill is an added bonus, but not a requirement -- we can always help people to play more effectively, but chemistry is something that can't be learned. Similarly, we won't give special consideration to people of a particular class or itemization. A dwarf priest in full Transcendence won't be considered for membership if they don't play well with others.

6.3 - Applying to Not in the Face - Anyone considering joining Not in the Face should complete an application in our public Recruitment forum.

6.4 - Conditional Acceptance - Once the officers have reviewed the application, they may ask the applicant to group repeatedly with members of Not in the Face (at everyone's convenience) to get to know the prospective member. If, over the course of this partying, several NitF members are of the opinion that the applicant would be a good fit for the guild (and no one feels strongly that the person would not be a good fit), the applicant will be asked to complete a 'Guild Quest.'

6.5 - Guild Quest - As a last step toward becoming part of the NitF family, the applicant will be required to complete a Guild Quest. The objectives of the quest will be given to you by an officer, and you will have to complete the quest and, if required, submit proof of your success. The quests are varied and imaginative, and may involve composing a sonnet or running naked through Orgrimmar while spamming a particular emote. The quest shouldn't take more than an hour or so to complete. The purpose of the quest is to determine your loyalty and commitment to the guild, and to further engender an atmosphere of fun and revelry. Plus we just really like to haze the new guy. ;) Upon successful completion of the quest, the applicant will be invited to the guild and start their probationary period.

6.6 - Probationary Period - The new member will be an initiate until they are promoted by the officers. While they are initiates, they will enjoy all the benefits of full membership except:They cannot nominate or vouch for other applicants.
They will not have access to the guild bank or other guild resources (although they may receive items from individual guild members at their discretion).
Once the officers feel an initiate has become a valuable member of the guild, the initiate will be promoted to full member. In the unlikely event that the initiate is not felt to be a good fit, they may have their probationary period extended, or they may be asked to leave. The probationary period may last anywhere from a few weeks to a month (or more) depending on initiate's activity in the guild.
