5.6 - Honor/Token Leeching - If you are involved in a battleground, you should attempt to play the battleground. There are other people playing the game, and if you're not interested in actually playing, you shouldn't be in the battleground. Guarding a node while chatting with friends is ok. Running into a corner or staying dead is not. Using an AFK bot is DEFINITELY not ok.

Guild Recruitment and Applications
6.1 - General Guild Recruiting Status - We currently aren't actively recruiting. We gained a large number of high-quality individuals simply through merging several friend-based guilds, and are therefore not in a great need of additional players. That said, if someone knows of an individual who would be an asset to our guild, we are always happy to consider them for guild membership. Guild membership is in no way a guarantee, entitlement, or even suggestion of raid membership.
6.2 - Criteria for Selecting New Guild members - The single most important criterion for selecting additional members is compatibility. We want people who will enhance our in-game experiences -- people who are friendly, respectful of others, and generally a lot of fun. Player skill is an added bonus, but not a requirement -- we can always help people to play more effectively, but chemistry is something that can't be learned. Similarly, we won't give special consideration to people of a particular class or itemization. A dwarf priest in full Transcendence won't be considered for membership if they don't play well with others.
6.3 - Applying to Not in the Face - Anyone considering joining Not in the Face should complete an application in our public Recruitment forum∞.
6.4 - Conditional Acceptance - Once the officers have reviewed the application, they may ask the applicant to group repeatedly with members of Not in the Face (at everyone's convenience) to get to know the prospective member. If, over the course of this partying, several NitF members are of the opinion that the applicant would be a good fit for the guild (and no one feels strongly that the person would not be a good fit), the applicant will be asked to complete a 'Guild Quest.'
6.5 - Guild Quest - As a last step toward becoming part of the NitF family, the applicant will be required to complete a Guild Quest. The objectives of the quest will be given to you by an officer, and you will have to complete the quest and, if required, submit proof of your success. The quests are varied and imaginative, and may involve composing a sonnet or running naked through Orgrimmar while spamming a particular emote. The quest shouldn't take more than an hour or so to complete. The purpose of the quest is to determine your loyalty and commitment to the guild, and to further engender an atmosphere of fun and revelry. Plus we just really like to haze the new guy. ;) Upon successful completion of the quest, the applicant will be invited to the guild and start their probationary period.
6.6 - Probationary Period - The new member will be an initiate until they are promoted by the officers. While they are initiates, they will enjoy all the benefits of full membership except:They cannot nominate or vouch for other applicants.
They will not have access to the guild bank or other guild resources (although they may receive items from individual guild members at their discretion).
Once the officers feel an initiate has become a valuable member of the guild, the initiate will be promoted to full member. In the unlikely event that the initiate is not felt to be a good fit, they may have their probationary period extended, or they may be asked to leave. The probationary period may last anywhere from a few weeks to a month (or more) depending on initiate's activity in the guild.

3.7 - The Spirit of Bidding - When you bid on an item, you are essentially 'paying' the raid for that item (through your contributions up to that point). So while it's in your own best interest to acquire items for as few points as possible, keep in mind that if you get the item for nothing, you're getting a free epic at the expense of the rest of the raid (which is why we have minimum bids). It's in everyone's best interests for you to pay a fair price for your items. Arrangements with other players to try to obtain items for fewer points than they would normally cost you unbalances our economy and undermines others' ability to obtain items, and will not be tolerated. People who are found to be attempting this simply won't be invited to our raids and may be disciplined in other ways as well (e.g. fed to the Monkey, massive dkp penalties). That's not to say you need to max bid everything, but passing on an item that you want for someone else to get it cheap is not kosher. Just keep in mind that if you're going out of your way to save other people points on items, you aren't helping the raid and if it's felt to have a negative impact you won't be invited.

2.4.1 - Not-So-Accidentally Ninja'd Items - Are totally unacceptable, and may result in swift removal from the guild. Officers should be made aware of the problem immediately. If no officers are available, they should be contacted via in-game mail or on the guild forum by messaging Ofacer∞. Screenshots of the transgression are encouraged. Note that rolling need on something only to sell it later is considered 'Ninjaing'.

Additions:
1.2 - Respect (fo sho!) - You're expected to show respect for guildmates and other people in general.
2.3.3 - Recipes and Trade Items - For trade formulas, patterns, and recipes, need may be called for recipes you can learn immediately. If you wish to roll for a recipe that you cannot immediately learn, ask the group before calling need.
3.1 - DKP are only awarded for schedule raids (Tuesday and Thursday 7:30-11 and Wednesday 8-8:30ish). Current DKP standings can be found here∞. Please note that we are currently still working this system, so you may see changes to our DKP system. Changes made to DKP will not be retroactive -- any points you've already earned will be unaffected by policy changes.
3.2 - Earning DKP - All new characters will get a new DKP account which starts with 5 points. This will allow you to participate in the bidding process immediately.
You earn a point bonus for any boss kill that we have killed previously and 1 point per hour spent working on a boss if we fail to kill them (up to the point value of that boss - 1). So, for example, if we kill Boss A (worth 3 points) 2 hours into the raid and kill Boss B (also worth 3 points) 20 minutes later, everyone gets 6 points. But, instead, if we spend the next two hours unsuccessfully trying to kill the Boss B, everyone in the raid would earn 5 points. If everyone was feeling especially masochistic and we spent an additional three hours on Boss B without killing him, everyone would still earn 2 points (since Boss B is worth 3 points, the point-per-hour bonus is capped at 2).
As we progress and improve, points for killing a boss will decrease over time. Current boss values are listed at: BossPoints, but are subject to change at the RL's discretion.
3.2.1 - Points are only awarded when a boss is killed or when the raid leader calls the raid. Showing up on time and clearing trash for an hour and then leaving before the boss kill will earn 0 points. Killing 2 3pt bosses and wiping on a third 3 point boss for 2 hours and then leaving (before the raid leader calls it) only earns you 6 points, not 8 (as you would earn if you waited for the RL to call it).
3.3 - Bonus Points granted for the following
3.3.1 - On time bonus - 1 point for being ready and waiting at start point at the designated start time. Starting point for MC/BWL is Thorium Point in the Searing Gorge. Starting point for Onyxia is Theramore. Starting point for TAQ is Cenarion Hold.
3.3.2 - Not afraid of wipes - 1 bonus point will be awarded if a Raid is cancelled due to lack of numbers (for all that showed). The early-bird bonus point will also count for those who arrive on-time for a cancelled raid (so effectively 2 points for a cancelled raid if you were on time).
3.3.3 - First Kill - 5 bonus points for being part of a first boss kill (on top of the regular boss-kill points)
3.4 - Penalty Points accrued by:
3.4.1 -
AWOL - Negative 2 points for going AFK extended periods of time without permission from the raidleader.
3.4.2 -
Criminal Idiocy - Negative 2 points for wiping the raid in a way that was warned about and easily avoidable. This is used extremely rarely and is only meant to penalize extremely blatant mistakes, like standing in the middle of the raid with barons bomb as everyone yells at you or wandering off and pulling an extra couple bosses as the raid drinks.
3.4.3 -
Random Smitings - Negative points given out at the discretion of raid leader for unsportsmanlike conduct or problematic behavior.
3.5.1.1.1 - The
Onyxia Scale backpack - is a
BoP green. It's a biddable item and has a min bid of 1 point.
3.5.1.1.2 - The
Bindings of the Windseeker - (Right/Left) are legendary weapon components. They have min bids of 10. An unclaimed binding is bid regularly. Once a winner is determined, they are offered the option to buy the complimentary binding for 25 dkp. They are allowed to go negative for that, and it will be subtracted immediately. They are placed on the bottom of the list for the other piece. When a binding drops and there are people who have pre-purchased it, it goes to the person at the top of the list for no points (and that person is removed from the list).
4.1 - General Guidelines - As with guild members, alliance folks should generally be treated with respect. Be yourself, but be mindful that your actions reflect on the guild as well. Avoid doing or saying things that might make the guild look bad.
4.2 - Helping Out - While never required, it never hurts to spread the love. If allies in your area are having problems with horde, you are encouraged to lend a hand when it's reasonable to do so. Assisting random groups or individuals with quests and instances can be a bit of a headache, but if the request is reasonable, try to help out there as well.
4.3 - Swearing and "Adult" Conversations
4.3.1 -
...in General/Trade/LocalDefense/LookingForGroup - Swearing is against the TOS and may be actionable by Blizz. Try to avoid for obvious reasons (and because it reflects poorly on the guild).
4.3.2 -
...in party/raid chat - Swearing is still against the TOS and if you say something that upsets another player, you may find yourself punished by Blizzard. Most groups do not seem overly bothered by a little profanity, but use your judgement, and if asked to stop, apologize and adjust your language accordingly.
4.4 - Discriminatory Language - As in 2.2, language that discriminates against anyone based on race or sexual orientation is totally unacceptable.
4.5 - Inter-personal Disputes - In the event that you have a serious problem with an ally that requires anything beyond /ignore, consider bringing the problem to attention of a guild officer. Try to avoid posting about it on public forums. If you feel compelled to go public, be civil and professional.
5.1 - General Conduct - Respect your opponents. They're just trying to play the game like you are. That said, the expectation on this server is that players should be able to engage in combat as they feel like it. Fight hard, fight often, but conduct yourself with class and try to have a little sportsmanship.
5.2 - BG Exploits - Exploits in BG are generally regarded as cheating, and reflect poorly on the guild. Please refrain from using known exploits in BG. If it's cheap, if it's lame, if it's unintuitive, it's probably an exploit. Please don't do it.
5.3 - Ganking - This is a PvP server so "Red = Dead" is a valid code of conduct. There is no policy against killing another player who is considerably lower level than you. Just be sure that's not all you do and let them be on their way when they res.
5.4 - Emoting - While clever and well-timed emotes are encouraged, avoid over-using emotes and speech macros. /spitting on opponents is generally frowned-upon and spamming /spit is unacceptable.
5.5 - Smack Talk - Avoid excessive smack-talk in public chat and forums. If you want to talk smack to an opponent and it's meant in fun, be sure the person it's directed at is aware of your intent.
6.1 - General Guild Recruiting Status - We currently aren't actively recruiting. Conduct within the Guild
2.2.1 -
Damned Famers - While many of us are not fans of goldfarmers (i.e. players whose sole purpose in the game is to obtain gold to sell for real-world money), their country of origin/residence is not relevant. Please avoid using "Chinese Farmer" or similar terms. "Goldfarmer" is sufficient to convey your meaning and cannot be construed as racist or culturally-biased.
2.3.1 -
Vanity Items - While there is nothing wrong with wanting to roll on an item that would look "cool" on your character (but that would serve little function beyond posing in Ironforge), you are expected to give priority to those who could actually use the item in anger (i.e. in
PvE or
PvP). You are expected to roll greed on these items, unless you have permission from the group to roll need.
2.3.2 -
Hunter Weapon - Aside from the rare class sets, the guild does not subscribe to the idea that certain items 'belong' to certain classes -- if you can and will use an item, you are free to roll on it. However, realize that some items are better for some than for others. If an item is a marginal upgrade for you and a huge boost for someone else, consider passing the item to that person. Know how stats effect different classes, realize that a weapon proc doesn't help a druid at all and +spirit doesn't do anything for a rogue. If you're concerned about losing an item that you feel you absolutely need, negotiate with other interested parties before the run begins.
2.3.3
Recipes and Trade Items - For trade formulas, patterns, and recipes, need may be called for recipes you can learn immediately. If you wish to roll for a recipe that you cannot immediately learn, ask the group before calling need.
2.4.1 -
Not-So-Accidentally Ninja'd Items - Are totally unacceptable, and may result in swift removal from the guild. Officers should be made aware of the problem immediately. If no officers are available, they should be contacted via in-game mail or on the guild forum. Screenshots of the transgression are encouraged. Note that rolling need on something only to sell it later is Ninjaing.
2.4.2 -
Reporting a Ninja to the Community - In the unlikely event that we uncover a ninja within our ranks and that person is removed from the guild, an officer may post a warning to the general community provided the post is professional and backed by screenshots. Under no circumstances should members post on public forums before disciplinary action is completed (as this falls under "Airing Guild Affairs in Public").
2.6.1 -
Items - It is generally expected that
BoE items be offered to guildmates for free if the item is an upgrade from what they are currently using. In the case of sought-after
BoE rares and epics, it can be difficult to part with the items for free, however, if you choose to ask to be paid for the item, you should not charge more than half the "going rate" (the median or average price listed on Allakhazam, whichever is lower). Free is best though. Remember, it's to your advantage to have well-equipped teammates.
2.6.2 -
Trades - You are expected to offer crafting skills to guildmates free of charge for goods or services that cost you nothing or nominal amounts. For more expensive goods and services, you are expected to provide the crafting for free but the materials are the responsibility of person requiring the service. People with gathering professions are expected to offer
small quantities of goods for free, if required. While it is expected that people offer these things for free, tips or reciprocal favours are encouraged.
DKP
3.2.1 Points are only awarded when a boss is killed or when the raid leader calls the raid.
3.5.1 -
Loot - Items have no set DKP price. Their price will be determined by bidding. All epic set items and weapons have a minimum bid of 10 points. All other epic items have a minimum bid of 5 points. All green
BoEs will be raid rolled. All blue
BoEs will go to the guild bank. All cores/raid materials obtained in MC will go to the
NitF bank and will be used to create gear for guild members in exchange for DKP (requests must be approved by the officers). Requests for gear can be made in the
Guild Bank∞ forum. Please note that priority on items will be based on the needs of the guild.
3.5.1.1 -
Special Loots
3.5.1.1.1 - The
Onyxia Scale backpack is a
BoP green. It's a biddable item and has a min bid of 1 point.
3.5.1.1.2 - The
Bindings of the Windseeker (Right/Left) are legendary weapon components.
3.5.2 -
The Auctioneer - In most cases, the raid leader will be the master looter and the auctioneer. In cases where the raid leader wishes to bid on an item, he may assign another auctioneer before bidding begins.
3.5.3 -
Negative Bidding - Negative Bidding - You are always allowed to make a minimum bid, even if it would put you negative. If there is a tie bid anyone starting with positive points would roll off. If all bidders start with negative points, the one who would be the least negative wins the bid. You are not allowed to bid more than the minimum if it would put you negative.
4.3.1
...in General/Trade/LocalDefense/LookingForGroup - Swearing is against the TOS and may be actionable by Blizz. Try to avoid for obvious reasons (and because it reflects poorly on the guild).
4.3.2
...in party/raid chat - Swearing is still against the TOS and if you say something that upsets another player, you may find yourself punished by Blizzard. Most groups do not seem overly bothered by a little profanity, but use your judgement, and if asked to stop, apologize and adjust your language accordingly.
Deletions:
2. Conduct within the Guild
2.2.1 - Damned Famers - While many of us are not fans of goldfarmers (i.e. players whose sole purpose in the game is to obtain gold to sell for real-world money), their country of origin/residence is not relevant. Please avoid using "Chinese Farmer" or similar terms. "Goldfarmer" is sufficient to convey your meaning and cannot be construed as racist or culturally-biased.
2.3.1 - Vanity Items - While there is nothing wrong with wanting to roll on an item that would look "cool" on your character (but that would serve little function beyond posing in Ironforge), you are expected to give priority to those who could actually use the item in anger (i.e. in PvE or PvP). You are expected to roll greed on these items, unless you have permission from the group to roll need.
2.3.2 - Hunter Weapon - Aside from the rare class sets, the guild does not subscribe to the idea that certain items 'belong' to certain classes -- if you can and will use an item, you are free to roll on it.
2.3.3 Recipes and Trade Items - For trade formulas, patterns, and recipes, need may be called for recipes you can learn immediately. If you wish to roll for a recipe that you cannot immediately learn, ask the group before calling need.
2.4.1 - Not-So-Accidentally Ninja'd Items - Are totally unacceptable, and may result in swift removal from the guild. Officers should be made aware of the problem immediately. If no officers are available, they should be contacted via in-game mail or on the guild forum. Screenshots of the transgression are encouraged. Note that rolling need on something only to sell it later is Ninjaing.
2.4.2 - Reporting a Ninja to the Community - In the unlikely event that we uncover a ninja within our ranks and that person is removed from the guild, an officer may post a warning to the general community provided the post is professional and backed by screenshots. Under no circumstances should members post on public forums before disciplinary action is completed (as this falls under "Airing Guild Affairs in Public").
2.6.1 - Items - It is generally expected that BoE items be offered to guildmates for free if the item is an upgrade from what they are currently using. In the case of sought-after BoE rares and epics, it can be difficult to part with the items for free, however, if you choose to ask to be paid for the item, you should not charge more than half the "going rate" (the median or average price listed on Allakhazam, whichever is lower). Free is best though. Remember, it's to your advantage to have well-equipped teammates.
2.6.2 - Trades - You are expected to offer crafting skills to guildmates free of charge for goods or services that cost you nothing or nominal amounts. For more expensive goods and services, you are expected to provide the crafting for free but the materials are the responsibility of person requiring the service. People with gathering professions are expected to offer small quantities of goods for free, if required. While it is expected that people offer these things for free, tips or reciprocal favours are encouraged.

Overall Guidelines
2. Conduct within the Guild
2.1 - Swearing and "Adult" Conversations - Generally in guild chat, party chat, and Vent/TS, swearing and "grown-up-talk" is fine. Recognize that everyone's threshold for what is appropriate and inappropriate is a little bit different, though. If you are asked to tone it down, please respect that person's wishes and adjust your language accordingly.
2.2 - Discriminatory Language - Language that discriminates against anyone based on race or sexual orientation is totally unacceptable. Please avoid this entirely.
2.3 - Equipment - Need rolls for are appropriate for gear you can equip immediately on the character you're playing. If you feel that you need it for some other reason, please talk to the group first and default it to someone who's in the situation mentioned above.
2.3.1 - Vanity Items - While there is nothing wrong with wanting to roll on an item that would look "cool" on your character (but that would serve little function beyond posing in Ironforge), you are expected to give priority to those who could actually use the item in anger (i.e. in PvE or PvP). If you're concerned about losing an item that you feel you absolutely need, negotiate with other interested parties before the run begins.
2.3.3 Recipes and Trade Items - For trade formulas, patterns, and recipes, need may be called for recipes you can learn immediately. If you wish to roll for a recipe that you cannot immediately learn, ask the group before calling need.
2.4 - Accidentally "Ninja'd" Items - Accidents will happen. Understand that the item lost is nothing more than a collection of bytes on Blizz's servers, and as such, not worth losing friends over. Accidental looting of items should be addressed with mutual respect and without animosity. Possible soulutions include financial arrangements or repeated subsequent guild attempts to obtain the item for the person who lost it. Officers should immediately be made aware of any accidents, and will arbitrate where necessary.
Under no circumstances should members post on public forums before disciplinary action is completed (as this falls under "Airing Guild Affairs in Public").
2.5 - In-Guild Disputes - When a dispute arises among guild members, try to keep it impersonal and objective. If the parties are unable to resolve it themselves, ask for an officer or officers to arbitrate. Under no circumstances should disputes be made public. Message Ofacer∞ if you want to bring the issue to the attention of all guild officers. The WoW forums (or any public forum) should never be used for in-guild disputes.
3. DKP
3.1 DKP are only awarded for schedule raids (Tuesday and Thursday 7:30-11 and Wednesday 8-8:30ish). Current DKP standings can be found here∞. Please note that we are currently still working this system, so you may see changes to our DKP system. Changes made to DKP will not be retroactive -- any points you've already earned will be unaffected by policy changes.
3.2 - Earning DKPAll new characters will get a new DKP account which starts with 5 points. This will allow you to participate in the bidding process immediately.
3.2.1 Points are only awarded when a boss is killed or when the raid leader calls the raid.
3.3 Bonus Points granted for the following: 1 point for being ready and waiting at start point at the designated start time. Starting point for MC/BWL is Thorium Point in the Searing Gorge. Starting point for Onyxia is Theramore. Starting point for TAQ is Cenarion Hold. 1 bonus point will be awarded if a Raid is cancelled due to lack of numbers (for all that showed). The early-bird bonus point will also count for those who arrive on-time for a cancelled raid (so effectively 2 points for a cancelled raid if you were on time).
3.4 5 bonus points for being part of a first boss kill (on top of the regular boss-kill points)Negative Points accrued by: -2 points for going AFK extended periods of time without permission from the raidleader.
-2 points for wiping the raid via Baron's Bomb or some similarly catastrophic negligent act (not misclicking something or failing one task, but to do something that is criminally negligent or actively idiotic).
3.5 - Bidding - You are able to bid with any points you had coming into the raid, not points earned during the night. Bidding is done by silent bid (whispered to the auctioneer). The single highest bid wins the item and that amount is deducted from the winner's DKP account. There are no 'do-overs,' so consider your bid carefully. Ties will be settled via random rolls.
3.5.1 - Loot - Items have no set DKP price. Their price will be determined by bidding. All epic set items and weapons have a minimum bid of 10 points. All other epic items have a minimum bid of 5 points. All green BoEs will be raid rolled. All blue BoEs will go to the guild bank. 3.5.1.1 - Special Loots
3.5.1.1.1 - The
Onyxia Scale backpack is a
BoP green. It's a biddable item and has a min bid of 1 point.
3.5.1.1.2 - The
Bindings of the Windseeker (Right/Left) are legendary weapon components.
3.5.2 - The Auctioneer - In most cases, the raid leader will be the master looter and the auctioneer. In cases where the raid leader wishes to bid on an item, he may assign another auctioneer before bidding begins.
3.5.3 - Negative Bidding - Negative Bidding - You are always allowed to make a minimum bid, even if it would put you negative. If there is a tie bid anyone starting with positive points would roll off. If all bidders start with negative points, the one who would be the least negative wins the bid. You are not allowed to bid more than the minimum if it would put you negative.
3.6 - DKP and Alts - Different characters are treated as different DKP entities. There is no transferring points between players, nor is there transferring points between a player's characters. Points will always be earned and spent by the character being played, for that character's gear. The only exception would be if the raid leader asks someone to switch to an alt for class composition, then and only then, at the raid leader's discretion, can points be earned on a character other than the one being played.
People who are found to be attempting this simply won't be invited to our raids and may be disciplined in other ways as well (e.g. fed to the Monkey). There is a grey area, however, around deferring to friends or to members of your class who could make better use of an item (e.g. a feral druid passing on Cenarion in deference to a restoration druid). Just keep in mind that if you're going out of your way to save points on items, you aren't helping the raid and if it's felt to have a negative impact you won't be invited.
4. Conduct within the Alliance
4.1 General Guidelines - As with guild members, alliance folks should generally be treated with respect. Be yourself, but be mindful that your actions reflect on the guild as well. Avoid doing or saying things that might make the guild look bad.
4.2 Helping Out - While never required, it never hurts to spread the love. If allies in your area are having problems with horde, you are encouraged to lend a hand when it's reasonable to do so. Assisting random groups or individuals with quests and instances can be a bit of a headache, but if the request is reasonable, try to help out there as well.
4.3 Swearing and "Adult" Conversations
4.3.1 ...in General/Trade/LocalDefense/LookingForGroup - Swearing is against the TOS and may be actionable by Blizz. Try to avoid for obvious reasons (and because it reflects poorly on the guild).
4.3.2 ...in party/raid chat - Swearing is still against the TOS and if you say something that upsets another player, you may find yourself punished by Blizzard. Most groups do not seem overly bothered by a little profanity, but use your judgement, and if asked to stop, apologize and adjust your language accordingly.
4.4 Discriminatory Language - As in 2.2, language that discriminates against anyone based on race or sexual orientation is totally unacceptable.
4.5 Inter-personal Disputes - In the event that you have a serious problem with an ally that requires anything beyond /ignore, consider bringing the problem to attention of a guild officer. Try to avoid posting about it on public forums. If you feel compelled to go public, be civil and professional.
5. PvP Conduct
5.1 General Conduct - Respect your opponents. They're just trying to play the game like you are. That said, the expectation on this server is that players should be able to engage in combat as they feel like it. Fight hard, fight often, but conduct yourself with class and try to have a little sportsmanship.
5.2 BG Exploits - Exploits in BG are generally regarded as cheating, and reflect poorly on the guild. Please refrain from using known exploits in BG. If it's cheap, if it's lame, if it's unintuitive, it's probably an exploit. Please don't do it.
5.3 Ganking - This is a PvP server so "Red = Dead" is a valid code of conduct. There is no policy against killing another player who is considerably lower level than you. Just be sure that's not all you do and let them be on their way when they res.
5.4 Emoting - While clever and well-timed emotes are encouraged, avoid over-using emotes and speech macros. /spitting on opponents is generally frowned-upon and spamming /spit is unacceptable.
5.5 Smack Talk - Avoid excessive smack-talk in public chat and forums. If you want to talk smack to an opponent and it's meant in fun, be sure the person it's directed at is aware of your intent.
6. Guild Recruitment and Applications
6.1 General Guild Recruiting Status - We currently aren't actively recruiting.
6.2 Criteria for Selecting New Guild members - The single most important criterion for selecting additional members is compatibility.
6.3 Applying to Not in the Face - Anyone considering joining Not in the Face should complete an application in our public Recruitment forum∞.
6.4 Conditional Acceptance - Once the officers have reviewed the application, they may ask the applicant to group repeatedly with members of Not in the Face (at everyone's convenience) to get to know the prospective member. If, over the course of this partying, several NitF members are of the opinion that the applicant would be a good fit for the guild (and no one feels strongly that the person would not be a good fit), the applicant will be asked to complete a 'Guild Quest.'
6.5 Guild Quest - As a last step toward becoming part of the NitF family, the applicant will be required to complete a Guild Quest.
6.6 Probationary Period - The new member will be an initiate until they are promoted by the officers. While they are initiates, they will enjoy all the benefits of full membership except:They cannot nominate or vouch for other applicants.

2.2 - Swearing and "Adult" Conversations - Generally in guild chat, party chat, and Vent/TS, swearing and "grown-up-talk" is fine. Recognize that everyone's threshold for what is appropriate and inappropriate is a little bit different, though. If you are asked to tone it down, please respect that person's wishes and adjust your language accordingly.
2.3 - Discriminatory Language - Language that discriminates against anyone based on race or sexual orientation is totally unacceptable. Please avoid this entirely.
2.3.1 - Damned Famers - While many of us are not fans of goldfarmers (i.e. players whose sole purpose in the game is to obtain gold to sell for real-world money), their country of origin/residence is not relevant. Please avoid using "Chinese Farmer" or similar terms. "Goldfarmer" is sufficient to convey your meaning and cannot be construed as racist or culturally-biased.
2.4 - In-Guild Disputes - When a dispute arises among guild members, try to keep it impersonal and objective.
3. Conduct within the Alliance
3.1 General Guidelines - As with guild members, alliance folks should generally be treated with respect. Be yourself, but be mindful that your actions reflect on the guild as well. Avoid doing or saying things that might make the guild look bad.
3.2 Helping Out - While never required, it never hurts to spread the love. If allies in your area are having problems with horde, you are encouraged to lend a hand when it's reasonable to do so. Assisting random groups or individuals with quests and instances can be a bit of a headache, but if the request is reasonable, try to help out there as well.
3.3 Swearing and "Adult" Conversations
3.3.1 ...in General/Trade/LocalDefense/LookingForGroup - Swearing is against the TOS and may be actionable by Blizz. Try to avoid for obvious reasons (and because it reflects poorly on the guild).
3.3.2 ...in party/raid chat - Swearing is still against the TOS and if you say something that upsets another player, you may find yourself punished by Blizzard. Most groups do not seem overly bothered by a little profanity, but use your judgement, and if asked to stop, apologize and adjust your language accordingly.
3.4 Discriminatory Language - As in 2.4, language that discriminates against anyone based on race or sexual orientation is totally unacceptable.
3.5 Inter-personal Disputes - In the event that you have a serious problem with an ally that requires anything beyond /ignore, consider bringing the problem to attention of a guild officer. Try to avoid posting about it on public forums. If you feel compelled to go public, be civil and professional.
4. PvP Conduct
4.1 General Conduct - Respect your opponents. They're just trying to play the game like you are. That said, the expectation on this server is that players should be able to engage in combat as they feel like it. Fight hard, fight often, but conduct yourself with class and try to have a little sportsmanship.
4.2 BG Exploits - Exploits in BG are generally regarded as cheating, and reflect poorly on the guild. Please refrain from using known exploits in BG. If it's cheap, if it's lame, if it's unintuitive.
4.3 Ganking - This is a PvP server so "Red = Dead" is a valid code of conduct. There is no policy against killing another player who is considerably lower level than you. Just be sure that's not all you do and let them be on their way when they res.
4.4 Emoting - While clever and well-timed emotes are encouraged, avoid over-using emotes and speech macros. /spitting on opponents is generally frowned-upon and spamming /spit is unacceptable.
4.5 Smack Talk - Avoid excessive smack-talk in public chat and forums. If you want to talk smack to an opponent and it's meant in fun, be sure the person it's directed at is aware of your intent.
5. Guild Recruitment and Applications
5.1 General Guild Recruiting Status - We currently aren't actively recruiting.
5.2 Criteria for Selecting New Guild members - The single most important criterion for selecting additional members is compatibility.
5.3 Applying to Not in the Face - Anyone considering joining Not in the Face should complete an application in our public Recruitment forum∞.
5.4 Conditional Acceptance - Once the officers have reviewed the application, they may ask the applicant to group repeatedly with members of Not in the Face (at everyone's convenience) to get to know the prospective member. If, over the course of this partying, several NitF members are of the opinion that the applicant would be a good fit for the guild (and no one feels strongly that the person would not be a good fit), the applicant will be asked to complete a 'Guild Quest.'
5.5 Guild Quest - As a last step toward becoming part of the NitF family, the applicant will be required to complete a Guild Quest.
5.6 Probationary Period - The new member will be an initiate until they are promoted by the officers. While they are initiates, they will enjoy all the benefits of full membership except:They cannot nominate or vouch for other applicants.

Overall Guidelines
1.1 -
This is meant to be fun. -
WoW is just a game, and you should do your best to ensure that you have fun, and that the game is fun for others.
1.2 -
Respect (fo sho!) - You're expected to show respect for guildmates and other people in general.
1.3 -
The Spirit of the Code of Conduct - Where the Code of Conduct does not cover a specific circumstance (and there are lots!), you are expected to do the right thing based on our overall philosophy. Exploiting a loophole or doing something questionable because it "doesn't say not to in the
CoC" is not an acceptable excuse. If you're ever in doubt, that might be an indication that you're up to no good.
2.
Conduct within the Guild
2.1.0 -
Equipment - Need rolls for are appropriate for gear you can equip immediately on the character you're playing. If you feel that you need it for some other reason, please talk to the group first and default it to someone who's in the situation mentioned above.
2.1.2 -
Vanity Items - While there is nothing wrong with wanting to roll on an item that would look "cool" on your character (but that would serve little function beyond posing in Ironforge), you are expected to give priority to those who could actually use the item in anger (i.e. in
PvE or
PvP). You are expected to roll greed on these items, unless you have permission from the group to roll need.
2.1.3 -
Hunter Weapon - Aside from the rare class sets, the guild does not subscribe to the idea that certain items 'belong' to certain classes -- if you can and will use an item, you are free to roll on it.
2.1.4 -
Recipes and Trade Items - For trade formulas, patterns, and recipes, need may be called for recipes you can learn immediately. If you wish to roll for a recipe that you cannot immediately learn, ask the group before calling need.
2.1.5 -
Accidentally "Ninja'd" Items - Accidents will happen.
2.1.6 -
Not-So-Accidentally Ninja'd Items - Are totally unacceptable, and may result in swift removal from the guild. Officers should be made aware of the problem immediately. If no officers are available, they should be contacted via in-game mail or on the guild forum. Screenshots of the transgression are encouraged. Note that rolling need on something only to sell it later is Ninjaing.
2.1.7 -
Reporting a Ninja to the Community - In the unlikely event that we uncover a ninja within our ranks and that person is removed from the guild, an officer may post a warning to the general community provided the post is professional and backed by screenshots. Under no circumstances should members post on public forums before disciplinary action is completed (as this falls under "Airing Guild Affairs in Public").
2.1.8 -
DKP - DKP are only awarded for schedule raids (Tuesday and Thursday 7:30-11 and Wednesday 8-8:30ish). Current DKP standings can be found
here∞. Please note that we are currently still working this system, so you may see changes to our DKP system. Changes made to DKP will not be retroactive -- any points you've already earned will be unaffected by policy changes.
2.1.8.1 -
Earning DKPAll new characters will get a new DKP account which starts with 5 points.
Current boss values are listed at:
BossPoints, but are subject to change at the RL's discretion.
Points are only awarded when a boss is killed or when the raid leader calls the raid.
Bonus Points granted for the following: 1 point for being ready and waiting at start point at the designated start time.
5 bonus points for being part of a first boss kill (on top of the regular boss-kill points)Negative Points accrued by: -2 points for going AFK extended periods of time without permission from the raidleader.
-2 points for wiping the raid via Baron's Bomb or some similarly catastrophic negligent act (aggroing the imps on Lucifron, getting knocked into the whelps on Onyxia... things you need to really try to not listen to the raid to accomplish).
Negative points given out at the discretion of raid leader for unsportsmanlike conduct or problematic behaviour.
2.1.8.2 -
Bidding - You are able to bid with any points you had coming into the raid, not points earned during the night. Bidding is done by silent bid (whispered to the auctioneer). The single highest bid wins the item and that amount is deducted from the winner's DKP account. There are no 'do-overs,' so consider your bid carefully. Ties will be settled via random rolls.
2.1.8.2.1 -
The Auctioneer - In most cases, the raid leader will be the master looter and the auctioneer. In cases where the raid leader wishes to bid on an item, he may assign another auctioneer before bidding begins.
2.1.8.3 -
Negative Bidding - Negative Bidding - You are always allowed to make a minimum bid, even if it would put you negative. If there is a tie bid anyone starting with positive points would roll off. If all bidders start with negative points, the one who would be the least negative wins the bid. You are not allowed to bid more than the minimum if it would put you negative.
2.1.8.4 -
DKP and Alts - Different characters are treated as different DKP entities.
2.1.8.5 -
Loot - Items have no set DKP price.
2.1.8.6 -
Special Loots
2.1.8.6.1 - The
Onyxia Scale backpack is a
BoP green. It's a biddable item and has a min bid of 1 point.
2.1.8.6.2 - The
Bindings of the Windseeker (Right/Left) are legendary weapon components.
2.1.8.7 -
The Spirit of Bidding - When you bid on an item, you are essentially 'paying' the raid for that item (through your contributions up to that point). People who are found to be attempting this simply won't be invited to our raids and may be disciplined in other ways as well (e.g. fed to the Monkey).
2.2 -
Swearing and "Adult" Conversations - Generally in guild chat, party chat, and Vent/TS, swearing and "grown-up-talk" is fine. Recognize that everyone's threshold for what is appropriate and inappropriate is a little bit different, though. If you are asked to tone it down, please respect that person's wishes and adjust your language accordingly.
2.3 -
Discriminatory Language - Language that discriminates against anyone based on race or sexual orientation is totally unacceptable. Please avoid this entirely.
2.3.1 -
Damned Famers - While many of us are not fans of goldfarmers (i.e. players whose sole purpose in the game is to obtain gold to sell for real-world money), their country of origin/residence is not relevant. Please avoid using "Chinese Farmer" or similar terms. "Goldfarmer" is sufficient to convey your meaning and cannot be construed as racist or culturally-biased.
2.4 -
In-Guild Disputes - When a dispute arises among guild members, try to keep it impersonal and objective. If the parties are unable to resolve it themselves, ask for an officer or officers to arbitrate. Under no circumstances should disputes be made public. Message
Ofacer∞ if you want to bring the issue to the attention of all guild officers. The
WoW forums (or any public forum) should
never be used for in-guild disputes.
2.6 -
Profiting off of Guildmates
2.6.1 -
Items - It is generally expected that
BoE items be offered to guildmates for free if the item is an upgrade from what they are currently using.
3.

3.1
General Guidelines - As with guild members, alliance folks should generally be treated with respect. Be yourself, but be mindful that your actions reflect on the guild as well. Avoid doing or saying things that might make the guild look bad.

3.3

...in General/Trade/LocalDefense/LookingForGroup - Swearing is against the TOS and may be actionable by Blizz. Try to avoid for obvious reasons (and because it reflects poorly on the guild).
3.3.2
...in party/raid chat - Swearing is still against the TOS and if you say something that upsets another player, you may find yourself punished by Blizzard. 3.4

3.5
Inter-personal Disputes - In the event that you have a serious problem with an ally that requires anything beyond /ignore, consider bringing the problem to attention of a guild officer. Try to avoid posting about it on public forums. If you feel compelled to go public, be civil and professional.

Recruitment forum∞.
5.4
Conditional Acceptance - Once the officers have reviewed the application, they may ask the applicant to group repeatedly with members of Not in the Face (at everyone's convenience) to get to know the prospective member. If, over the course of this partying, several
